Highland Outdoors is an independent magazine that covers nature, conservation, and outdoor adventure in West Virginia.

I absolutely love publishing a print magazine, especially in this increasingly digital world. Over the past seven years, I’ve had the privilege to tell stories about the amazing landscapes and wildlife that occupy our little nook in Central Appalachia. It’s beyond fulfilling to connect with dedicated scientists and researchers who understand how globally important this region is for conserving biodiversity and combating climate change.

As co-publisher, I manage editorial calendars, edit work from contributors, sell advertisements, and oversee distribution and subscriptions. I design every issue using Adobe InDesign and write feature stories, news briefs, and profiles.
